Embrace Your Freckles

I used to really hate my freckles, I thought they made me look like a 12 year old with bad skin. However over the past few years I've realised that, actually, freckles look pretty damn good and with the sun looming (meaning freckles will be more prominent than ever) I thought it was the perfect time to do a beauty post on how to embrace your freckles.
01: Get rid of foundation. A scary thought, I know, but foundation generally tends to drown out freckles. Instead opt for a light bronzer, mineral powder or tinted moisturiser.
02: Go nude {see below}. Freckles can act like an accessory or a make-up in themselves so showing them off with a simple lick of mascara and nude lip is perfect.

03: Go all English Rose. A little bit of pink blusher and rosey lips will enhance your freckles.

04: Get warm. {see below} Warmer colours work really well with a freckly face so opt for orangey pinks and reds when it comes to lipsticks.

05: Be classic and sophisticated. A subtle black cat eye and red lip are a great look for freckles on a night out. Highlight cheek bones but keep face make-up to the minimum.

06: Finally the smokey eye. I love a good smokey eye but the top tip for freckles is focus on browns rather than blacks. Use a chocolatey brown and caramel combination for the best results.

What are your top tips for freckles?

Until next time,

  1. I have freckles and I love them. They're not quite as prominent as yours but I never wear foundation because I like them to show through. I go for the English Rose look quite a lot with a bit of rosy blush.
    Lovely post :-)
