Beauty Haul: Why I Bought It & Why I Kept It

I'll confess something; the packaging of a product is what attracts me to it more than anything else. I don't know if that's because I'm a blogger, because I work in fashion & lifestyle or just because I'm a little OCD (and I like my apartment to look pristine at all times). The theme in my bathroom is primarily pink and white. The odd ones out are my Bed Head purple hair care and my all natural coffee scrub. Anyway the reason I tell you this is because I thought it was time to be truthful; let's haul out the product that I bought based on the way they looked and see if they are really any good.

Prior to this year I pretty much religiously bought Sure deodorant (they did a pink and white bottle...) but just before I moved I stayed at my boyfriends and forgot deodorant. As much as I love wearing men's spray I decided to go and purchase a travel size one and a large one and this bottle was perfect. The wonderful upside to this is this is one of the best deodorants I've used. It seems an odd thing to review in many ways because, well, deodorant is deodorant, but this smells so fresh and beautiful.

This was partly purchased on the bottle but not entirely. My Mum went a little crazy when I was living at home and bought about 10 different Original Source shower gels in different flavours (flavours? Like I'm going to eat them?). My two favourites were this Vanilla & Raspberry and the Grapefruit, however this totally won on packaging.

I have an absolute obsession with having nice smelling hands. That's a very weird thing to admit but it's true. I have anti bacterial hand gel, hand cream, antibacterial wipes and even a hand mask. These actually are a little disappointing; there's no scent to them so for me - with my bizarre hand smelling obsession - they don't serve a huge amount of purpose.

You will probably know from past posts that I'm Soap & Glory obsessed and guess what, it's all because of their packaging!
No that isn't true, I do adore the way they are packaged but they also produce really high quality products (their sugar scrub is amazing). This shower gel, like all their products, smells beautiful. I can't really fault it.

So there you have it; an insight into my bathroom. Anything pink, white or girly is right up my street.

Until next time, E xx

  1. Haha, you are not alone... I also tend to buy some products just based on their packaging. For example, I've also bought that exact Dove deodorant and the Dove shampoos and conditioners just because i love the white and pink look... I thought they were "pretty" but thankfully they also smelled great! Sad to hear that those pretty antibacterial wipes didn't even have a pretty scent to them. they are so pretty!

    Take care,

    1. Usually it turns out okay when I buy them based on packaging but occasionally not so much... like those wipes, but at least they look pretty on my bed side table!
      Thanks for visiting :)
